Cooperative

The Basic Problem Of The Cooperative And The Solution

The problems faced by cooperatives today are very diverse, both internal and external. The following are issues that will be discussed, namely:

1. A cooperative that is currently less desirable

Most of the respondents are actually optimistic about the role of cooperatives in Indonesia. However, the fanfare of various new economic symbols today, such as banks, pawnshops, and even savings and loans institutions has limited the prestige of cooperatives. The expansion of cooperatives to appear more aggressive and to become bigger is also invisible. Many people's businesses, especially agriculture and animal husbandry, are considered to have not been effective in the midst of the existence of cooperatives. As a result, the public generally thinks that the current performance of cooperatives is not satisfactory.

In addition, cooperatives are rarely interested because there is an assumption that developed in the community is the failure of cooperatives in the past without any accountability to the community which causes community distrust about cooperative management. From here it is necessary to socialize to the community about cooperatives. With the socialization, it is expected that public knowledge about cooperatives will increase. People can know that cooperatives are actually a people's economy that can promote equitable prosperity. So that they are interested in joining.

2. Cooperatives are difficult to develop

For example in human resources, what is meant by the management of a cooperative. As we often encounter cooperative managers, usually those who are community leaders so that it can be said to have concurrent positions, this condition causes a lack of focus on cooperative management itself. It is necessary to provide guidance about cooperatives to the younger generation through education so that they can participate in cooperatives. Participation is an important factor in supporting the development of cooperatives. Participation will increase the sense of responsibility so that it can work efficiently and effectively. In addition, there is also an exact solution for other problems related to the difficulty of developing a cooperative, namely by having serious management starting from the membership of the cooperative itself.

3. Capital Limitations

The concerned party's capital problem is the government. Here the government has a large enough capital. By providing capital, cooperatives can expand their business so that they can survive and develop. Apart from the government, the community is an equally important party, where those who have more funds can save their money in a cooperative which can later be used for cooperative capital. Some solutions that are expected to be able to solve this problem are building a guarantee institution for cooperatives, implementing credit programs for cooperatives that are guaranteed by a syndication of the government and other stakeholders.
